Counting down Texas A&M's top 50 players for 2025: Aggies will have plenty of contribution from transfers and newcomers this fall

We're now nearly done with our countdown of the top 50 players on Texas A&M football's roster, and therefore are out of the "potential contributor" range into the "hopeful star" range. The Aggies have plenty in this category for the upcoming year— and perhaps none more so than the first on this list.

50 best Texas A&M players in 2025 - 20: Ashton Bethel-Roman

A signing-day flip from Arkansas in 2024, Bethel-Roman could soon prove to be one of Mike Elko's most significant wins on the trail thus far in his career in College Station. There's every indication that he's in for a breakout season, as players and coaches can't stop mentioning him as a guy that fans need to watch. The only reason he's not higher on this list right now is the simple fact that he still has yet to prove it in an actual game— but he could be top-10 by season's end.

50 best Texas A&M players in 2025 - 19: Trey Zuhn

One of the toughest and most reliable players on the team, Zuhn has been a starter for the Aggies through the good times and the bad. He fought through an injury to play in the 2022 season, and has been a captain since Mike Elko arrived. He will most likely anchor the line at one of the tackle spots, though he's apparently been cross-training at center as well.

50 best Texas A&M players in 2025 - 18: TJ Searcy

The Florida defensive end transfer was relatively productive in Gainesville in limited action, but many Gator fans and coaches were upset to see him go as he was expected to take a huge step from last season to this one. A&M fans are banking on him making just such a step and playing starter-level ball in a treacherous SEC schedule.

50 best Texas A&M players in 2025 - 17: Chase Bisontis

Though Ar'maj Reed-Adams gets a lot of headlines as maybe the best guard in America, I'm still standing on the table for Bisontis as a guy who needs more attention. He was a stud as a freshman, even playing out of position at tackle, and was really solid last year at guard. Though I think Reed-Adams will still end up the better guard by the end of the season, it's not a massive gap between the two, which says more about Chase than it does about Ar'maj.

50 best Texas A&M players in 2025 - 16: Dalton Brooks

Brooks has all of the physical tools you would want in a safety, but he still needs to put it all together. He's a heavy hitter in the mold of a Donovan Wilson or Justin Evans, but his coverage ability has been lacking at times. Different coaching in the secondary could aid him massively this year and turn him into a household name.

50 best Texas A&M players in 2025 - 15: Tyler Onyedim

There probably has not been enough talk about the Iowa State transfer along the defensive line, but Onyedim will be a guy who sees a lot of snaps for the Aggies this fall. Though he's a 300-pounder, he's still cat-quick at the snap, and will shoot plenty of gaps to create negative plays for opposing offenses. Expect to hear his name called a lot this season.

50 best Texas A&M players in 2025 - 14: Julian Humphrey

Another defensive transfer who hasn't been discussed quite as much as he should be, Humphrey is maybe best-known right now for being one of the UGA defensive backs who got juked out by Ryan Williams in one of last season's top highlights. That aside, he was maybe one of the best cover men on the Bulldogs' defense last year and was especially dominant against Texas, so expect him to get a lot of run for the Aggies this year.

50 best Texas A&M players in 2025 - 13: Marcel Reed

There's not much to say here about the starting QB for the Aggies that hasn't already been said, but if he takes the step that he has been rumored to, he will end the season in the top five rather than outside the top ten. His play down the stretch of last year was excellent despite the record, and it sounds like he's gotten even better since then.

50 best Texas A&M players in 2025 - 12: Mario Craver

The Mississippi State receiver transfer was beginning to break out in a major way for Jeff Lebby's squad last year before A&M got him out of the portal. He already has showed plenty, but will no doubt open some more eyes this season in the superior maroon and white.

50 best Texas A&M players in 2025 - 11: Albert Regis

The elder statesman of the defensive line has been a stalwart for the Aggies ever since his first year on campus. He won't be a guy that racks up a ton of numbers, but stonewalling opposing offensive linemen is his specialty, and his play will be key for A&M's defensive success this fall.
