Marcel Reed offering slight glimpse of hope to bring back WR Noah Thomas
Marcel Reed has become one of the most exciting young players to watch in college football.
He's acknowledged that he was going to have to be the voice of the quarterbacks in the locker room with Conner Weigman gone to Houston.
Noah Thomas at 6-foot-6 has slowly become a favorite target for Reed. Reed is still not giving hope by posting a cryptic message on his Instagram story recently regarding the wideout's decision to enter the transfer portal.
This was Thomas and Reed celebrating together for a moment during the Las Vegas Bowl.
After Thomas getting off to a rocky start with his on-field chemistry with Weigman, it seemed like with both guys healthy and in their prime, it seemed like they would have a deadly duo season together. Of course, Thomas started to shine while Weigman had an unfortunate sequence against LSU that he never came back from. Reed was there at the right time whenever Mike Elko needed a different man under center.
Even with all the transfer pick-ups at the wideout position, there is still plenty of room for Thomas to operate under the Collin Klein offense.
Elko and his staff just may be able to work something out. If not, it was a fine season that Thomas had with the Aggies, and wherever he goes, he's going to be a great asset for any school.
The important message here is that Reed isn't giving up hope. He still wants to compete with Thomas by his side, and with the frame and muscle that he's got for his position, it's easy to see why.
