Texas A&M boasts several 2027 commits that can fix their issues almost immediately

The Aggies may be in a bad way right now, but they still have an extremely bright future ahead of them— if they can get them to campus.

Which Texas A&M commits can step in and start right away to fix A&M's problems?

OL Mark Matthews

It's maybe too obvious to start with Matthews, but that doesn't mean it's wrong. The top offensive lineman in the nation has the size, the strength, and the technique to start as soon as he possibly can, and the A&M offensive line needs him badly.

Kennedy Brown will also have something to say about that, but if there's only going to be one player from this position group starting for the Ags, it will likely be Matthews— if the Aggies can get him to campus. A&M needs a big time infusion of talent at offensive line, as we've seen so far this season, so he'll be a very welcome addition.

S Kamarui Dorsey

Dorsey boasts a huge frame as a safety and will be a very versatile piece for this defense. He will come into College Station as a player who can step right into an SEC lineup and look like he belongs— he'll be ready to contribute on day one, without a doubt.

With Dalton Brooks and Marcus Ratcliffe both moving on, the safety spot will be up for grabs. The Aggies have definitely brought in quite a bit of talent at that spot, so it's not as though there won't be any competition— but Dorsey has the skillset to be the guy right away.

S JayQuan Snell

Snell, the hard-hitting safety out of Waxahachie, may be the biggest threat to Dorsey when it comes to who will be starting for the Aggies. Chance Collins, a current true freshman, has already seen his minutes begin to climb this year, so it well could be that Snell and Dorsey are battling to get the starting nod alongside him.

No matter what, though, we're likely to see all three— there's been a healthy rotation this season, and that's going to continue next year with this bevy of talented players on the back end. Snell's highlight tape is already can't-miss stuff for Aggie fans, and he'll be ready to put the same kind of clips up in the maroon and white as soon as he gets to campus.

LB Kaden Henderson

Henderson was one of the biggest wins for Mike Elko so far as a recruiter, as he finally gives the Aggies something they've been missing for a long time: a true five-star middle linebacker. He's one of the hardest hitters in this class, and with a spot opening up once Daymion Sanford moves on (presuming that he does), Henderson will be in prime position to get some snaps.

The combo of Henderson and Mikhail will be one of the best in the conference right away— he's that good. Keep your eyes on this guy once he gets to College Station.

WR Jaden Upshaw

Upshaw has done nothing but rise in the rankings since he committed to the Aggies, and it's not hard to see why. He's a true do-it-all kind of receiver, and once he gets the ball in his hands, it's really tough to bring him down.

It was difficult to pick between Upshaw and Eric McFarland for which top-50 player would start for the Aggies, and it well could be the speedy McFarland when all is said and done. Upshaw has a little more polish to his game right now, though, which is why I gave him the nod.

EDGE Frederick Ards

If we've learned one thing this year, it's that the Aggies are in desperate need of a pass rush— and Ards is the guy that can give it to them right away. He, along with Zyron Forstall, will make life hell for opposing SEC quarterbacks— and with a dearth of true pass-rushing talent right now on the Aggies' roster, he'll be ready to do it right away.

Ards is one of the players that the Aggies will have to do real work to keep in the class, but it's well worth it. His ability to get after the QB will bolster A&M's defense right away next year.
