Texas A&M is in a great position ahead of Mark Matthews, the nation's top offensive tackle, getting ready to announce his college commitment later today. The Aggies are poised to steal away a premier target from right under the nose of Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes— something that hardly ever happens.

All signs are pointing towards the maroon and white right now for Matthews, and Texas A&M just got yet another shot of confidence towards that end. With just hours to go before the big announcement, Rivals tweeted out how strongly the Aggies are trending in this hotly-contested race.

This is higher than their chances have ever yet been, according to the Recruiting Prediction Machine, and it's helping defuse some anxiety about Miami making a late push here. Matthews looks like he will be headed to College Station with this upcoming announceemtn, joining an Aggie class that is already massively loaded.

Texas A&M trending heavily for Mark Matthews with hours until decision

Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes have been after Matthews for years now, but the Aggies look like they'll be the ones to ultimately land him. He, along with Kennedy Brown, will be stalwarts that anchor the Aggie offensive line for years to come, helping make it one of the best in the entire nation going forward.

This is about as sure of an NFL draft pick as you can get with a guy from the high school ranks. He's been compared to guys like Laremy Tunsil during his high school years— a guy that was ready for the professional ranks basically from the time he stepped onto a college campus.

With more movement expected out of the Aggie program from the offensive line group after 2026, Matthews will have a chance to start right away. Hardly any true freshman start at offensive line in the SEC, but Matthews's skillset is such that he will threaten to do just that.

Matthews is not the only five-star lineman left on Texas A&M's board, however. Albert Simien, a five-star offensive guard from the Lake Charles area, is high on the Aggies, as is Ismael Camara out of Gilmer. If the Aggies unimaginably landed all three, we could be looking at one of the best college offensive lines ever.

There are plenty of other five-stars trending towards the Aggies at this point as well. Though John Meredith may be trending away, Texas A&M has recently made a move with CB Joshua Dobson. LB Kaden Henderson looks high on the Ags as well, as does WR Eric McFarland.

Texas A&M could be pulling away from every other team in the nation when it comes to the overall recruiting rankings, in other words, and it may not be close. The Aggies are looking like they are going to have a massive close to this cycle with months to go, locking up elite talents left and right.

Mark Matthews could be the start of that with his announcement tonight. If this prediction holds true, the Aggies are going to see the start of something very special.
