With today’s commitment from Kaden Henderson, Texas A&M now has a class with seven commitments that are considered five-star players by at least one service— an absolutely mind-boggling number that equals what we saw out of the legendarily high-ranking 2022 class.

The craziest part of this is that the Aggies are far from done recruiting players of this caliber. There are a total of five remaining players with a five-star rating that the Aggies are still recruiting (possibly six, depending on your level of optimism with the ever-opaque Ismael Camara, who I have not included in this article).

Many of these players are nearing time to announce their college decision, with some being very imminent. Here is everything Aggie fans need to know about the commitment timelines for their remaining five-star targets.

Announcement timelines for every single remaining 5-star Texas A&M target

CB John Meredith III

Meredith is set to commit tomorrow, June 19. This one seemed like it was done and dusted for the Aggies through last fall and even into this spring, but as the Aggies’ class got better and better, the in-state Longhorns got more and more desperate— and they made a serious move with Meredith a few months back.

Since then, things have gone back and forth quite a bit with Texas A&M and Texas in this recruitment, but it’s the Longhorns who got the final official visit from Meredith— and thus, that’s the way that many insiders are leaning at the current moment. That’s a tough idea to controvert right now with less than 24 hours to go before the announcement is made.

With the stature of Meredith as a player, you can bet that the Aggies are not going to give up in their pursuit of his commitment even if he pledges to the Longhorns. Flips are few and far between in this era of recruiting, but depending on how this season goes for each program, we could see some movement here late in the cycle.

CB Joshua Dobson

The nation’s second-ranked corner is finishing up his official visits right now, with a commitment date set to come on July 1. Reports are out that he has narrowed his field down to Texas A&M, Michigan, and South Carolina with days to go before he goes public with his decision.

With Meredith likely trending towards the Longhorns, this makes the Aggies’ pursuit of Dobson even higher of a priority. Texas A&M has been well-positioned throughout this recruitment, but they need to close, as both the Wolverines and the Gamecocks are hard after Dobson.

South Carolina seems like the team to watch here. Though Dobson now attends school north of the border in the Charlotte area, he’s originally from South Carolina, and the Gamecocks have made him a priority since day one. Texas A&M leads in the Recruiting Prediction Machine for Dobson, but you never know in the recruiting game.

WR Eric McFarland

Texas A&M’s top receiver target left on the board is set to go public with his commitment in only a few days, with an announcement scheduled for June 28. McFarland has completed his official visit slate, and the Aggies still seem like the team to beat for the five-star pass catcher.

It helps that another five-star Texas A&M commitment in Zyron Forstall is on McFarland’s team down at IMG, getting in his ear about coming to College Station. Though originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, McFarland’s move down to IMG could end up benefitting the Aggies, even though they are states away.

McFarland’s pledge would give the Aggies an elite and electric weapon at the receiver position. He could be the next five-star domino to fall for the Aggies, with a commitment only ten days away.

OL Albert Simien

The last remaining five-star offensive lineman target for the Aggies in a class where they’ve already notched two such commitments does not have an official date set, but with his final official visit scheduled for this weekend to Notre Dame, the common thought is that he will be making an announcement shortly afterwards.

Simien is a three-team race right now between the Aggies, LSU, and Notre Dame. Though the in-state Tigers recently made a push, they appear to be running third behind Texas A&M and the Irish right now for the Lake Charles prospect.

Simien’s commitment would give the Aggies maybe the best offensive lineman class they’ve had since Mike Sherman was on the trail. That would be three players in one position group who look like future first-rounders— no small feat for Adam Cushing, who’s recruited lights-out since arriving in College Station.

RB Landen Williams-Callis

Like Simien, Williams-Callis does not have a decision date set at this point. However, following this weekend in Austin, he will have also completed all of his official visits, so he’s another player who could announce at any point.

Williams-Callis is a smaller running back, but he’s an absolute yardage machine. Much like KJ Edwards, who is now donning the Maroon and White, he’s undersized but completely unstoppable on the field.

Trooper Taylor has very rarely not gotten his man in a given class since arriving on campus, and he’s been hard after Williams-Callis the entire time. I wouldn’t bet against Taylor in a recruitment like this one, but the Longhorns are going to do everything they can to get Williams-Callis in burnt orange. Watch this one closely over the upcoming days.
